I stopped into my bank this morning, which is working to make EVERYTHING more inconvenient, like recently changing their 7:30am - 7pm hours to 9am-6pm (the whole reason I signed on with them was so I wouldn't have to do my banking during work hours). My friends all complain about their banks, too. So it got me thinking, were banks EVER any good???
I found this old TV spot on You Tube, and in one respect, banks used to be better. Back then they actually made loans and encouraged you to take one. Instead of today, when you have to do everything short of genetic testing to qualify for a loan.
Take a look. The '60s era black-and-white animation is kind of campy. And the message harkens back to the golden age of advertising when marketers would find (sometimes make up) some sort of malady or problem (in this case, "money-jitters") and solve it with their product (in this case, loans).
