D/A Central, Inc - Direct Mail
One of two mailers designed to alert people to the fact that fire alarm systems need to be tested on a regular basis or else you may just have to, well, cross your fingers. The message resonated. It helped push more business to D/A Central who in turn helped customers answer a burning question.
PSI/Sciaky - Trade Show Flyers
As a manufacturer of Electron Beam Welding machines, Sciaky is an industry leader. Although it might sound like science fiction, and is one of the most precise welding methods available, Electron Beam Welding is perceived in the welding industry as old, slow, expensive technology. It is typically not considered an option outside industries needing very strong high quality welds, such as aerospace and defense.
So when Sciaky designed and engineered a next generation machine that was much smaller, faster and efficient, they needed help figuring out how to brand it and market it. After extensive research and evaluation of customer and prospect perceptions and needs, we discovered the marketable truths that Sciaky not only needed to sell the benefits of the new machine, but also needed to sell the category on the efficacy of the EBW technology for wider applications. A huge challenge.
To help make it happen, we branded the new machine NG1 - EVO... an exciting new evolution of EBW useful to many more industry sectors who rely on welding. The good news is that while selling an entire category on something is a slow process, The NG1 is creating buzz and Sciaky is selling machines.
Kurfees - In-Store Brochures
Kurfees dealers needed some compelling brochures to promote interest in the company's new odor-free paints. The two pieces above are the result. Feedback was that they helped sell a lot of paint. Better yet, people loved the scratch and sniff joke and asked if they could take extras home to play the trick on friends & family. In-store advertising, moving out... WOM. Who could ask for more!

bd's Mongolian Grill - In-Store POP
Members of the Atomic Ideas team were intimately involved in the process of defining and communicating the bd's brand to consumers. Initially, bd's was pigeon-holed as a place to get Mongolian stir fry. The first problem was that most people associate stir fry with Chinese food or Asian cuisine in general and bd's was offering much more. The second problem was that consumers had no idea what "Mongolian" stir fry was.
The creative below is representative of the solutions. Working in partnership with the bd's marketing team, we defined Mongolian stir fry as a style of exhibition cooking, not a type of cuisine, and minimized "stir fry" in messaging. Then we created and implemented promotions designed to get the word out that bd's offered a world of ethnic flavors and choices. Results have been excellent, creating diehard fans of the brand and increasing average tickets and repeat visits to the retaurants, especially during promotions.

4-color in-store posters for members of the Michigan Credit Union League. The ad
concepts generated high participation among the members of the credit union association.

Belle Tire/24 Promotion with FOX 2 in Detroit
This promotional tie-in to the popular TV series '24' was a blast to work on and had to be turned around in about 48 hours. Tough, but we did it!
We came up with the look and design for a microsite promoted by Fox 2. We also created a desktop widget compatible with all major computer operating systems. During the promotion, people downloaded the widget and it would push exclusive offers to them every 24 hours to help Belle Tire sell more stuff.
Hoyt, Brumm & Link Website
The site was the first presence on the web for HBL and serves as an information resource to both clients and employees. It also incorporates a blog and a video tour of HBL's onsite fabrication facility. Even though the budget for content and production was small, we were still able to meet and even exceed most of their requirements.
Carl's Golfland eCommerce Website
In 2006, Carl's Golfland decided to go from Web 1.0 to 2.0. Carl's wanted a site that would be different from every other competing golf retail site ion the Internet and fully integrate their brand online. They also required a full e-commerce capability. Members of the AI team made it happen for them. The site was built as an engaging, user-friendly portal for everything golf and has exceeded Carl's expectations. Today, thanks to the site and excellent work promoting it online by Carl's internal marketing team, they are selling a lot more stuff. Combined with their eBay store for odds & ends, online sales have gone from zero to huge, across the United States and around the globe.
Farmington Founders Festival Website
The Founders Festival needed a brand makeover to create a whole new look and feel for perhaps the biggest annual event in Farmington. Atomic's Russ Tate and Ron Neverswere part of the team that made it happen. The result was "Go Play In The Streets", an action-oriented, fun, fresh, more contemporary take on a long and cherished tradition. Ron designed a new logo for the event, the website and collateral materials and signage. The rebranding had the desired results. New energy and excitement for the event in Farmington, and increased festival traffic from outside the city.

ASC wanted a new look, new logo and a new, user-friendly website. This is the result.
